Oogschaduw is er in verschillende kleuren en vormen, zo heb je oogschaduw potlood, oogschaduw palettes, crème oogschaduw of poeder oogschaduw. Het aanbrengen van oogschaduw is vaak niet zo makkelijk als het lijkt, maar na een paar keer oefenen zal je het waarschijnlijk al onder de knie krijgen. Het aanbrengen van oogschaduw moet je eigenlijk aanpassen aan de vorm en kleur van je ogen. Je oogkleur kan je nog mooier op laten vallen door de juiste kleur te gebruiken, zo komen blauwe ogen het best tot hun recht met aarde tinten, oranje of bruine tinten, lila of blauwe oogschaduw (donkerder dan je oogkleur). Gebruik paarse oogschaduw bij groene en bruine ogen, daarnaast staan gouden, bronzen en roze tinten ook erg mooi bij bruine ogen. Ook groene oogschaduw staat mooi bij bruine ogen. Oogschaduw aanbrengen kan lastig worden als je meerdere kleuren wilt gebruiken, bovendien zijn er ook nog eens enorm veel oogschaduw kwasten te vinden. Er zijn verschillende pekken op je ooglid waar je oogschaduw aan kan brengen, zo kan oogschaduw worden aangebracht in de arcadeboog, het bewegend ooglid, de buitenste V en dan heb je ook nog de bovenste en onderste wimperlijn. Daarnaast kan oogschaduw ook worden aangebracht op het wenkbrauwbot en in de binnenste ooghoek. Gebruik donkere kleuren in de arcadeboog en buitenste V en lichte kleuren op je bewegend ooglid en in de binnenste ooghoek. Zo creëer je wat meer diepte in je oog.

Bovendien vind je ook oogschaduw primer, deze zorgt ervoor dat je oogschaduw beter blijft zitten en niet in de lijntjes komt. De verschillende oogschaduws zijn geschikt om te combineren, maar je kan natuurlijk ook voor een simpele look gaan met een kleur. Een crème eyeshadow is geschikt voor de rijpere huid, maar een poeder oogschaduw zal hoogstwaarschijnlijk wat beter blijven zitten. Gebruik de oogschaduws in combinatie met een oogschaduw primer voor het beste resultaat! Een glitter oogschaduw kan je het beste vermijden als je een rijpe huid hebt, deze oogschaduw laat fijne lijntjes en rimpels juist meer opvallen.
