You probably use your beautyblender every day. Without you realizing it, your beautyblender collects a lot of bacteria that can damage the skin. It is therefore extremely important to clean your beautyblender thoroughly and regularly.
A beautyblender is super convenient, and applying your foundation has never been easier. However, there is a downside: the sponge gets dirty very quickly. And it is nit so obvious, because the sponge is used daily in most cases. So you have probably noticed that a beautyblender absorbs a lot of foundation (or other liquid makeup products) and therefore often looks dirty very quickly. In addition to absorbing a lot of foundation, the handy makeup sponge also quickly absorbs bacteria, which is obviously not ideal. These bacteria get into the sponge, the same sponge you then use to apply foundation to your skin again! This can damage the skin and cause minor blemishes such as pimples, clogged pores, or red spots. And of course, we would prefer to prevent this!
Cleaning your beautyblender
There are now a huge variety of tools available for cleaning your makeup sponge. For example, Beautyblender offers the ‘Solid Cleanser’ and other various cleaning products from Beautyblender, as well as from other brands. These cleansers are specially designed to clean your beautyblender thoroughly. First, wet the beautyblender and apply a small amount of cleanser to the beautyblender. Massage the sponge in a bowl of water until the cleanser lathers. You will see that the water quickly becomes cloudy from the makeup residue in the sponge—yuck! Then squeeze out the beautyblender and rinse it again with some clean water. Let the beautyblender dry before using it again. Do this weekly to ensure that you can use a clean sponge every time!
